Top Things to do in Byron Bay for Christmas & New Year’s Eve 2020
Merry Christmas from all the team here at Byron Beach Realty! At one point it felt like this year would never end, but soon we’ll be turning our backs on 2020 for good. It has been a difficult year for many of us, so let’s go out in style and look towards the future. Here are some of our suggestions for spending Christmas and New Year’s in Byron Bay…
BBQ on the Beach
There’s no better way to spend Christmas than a BBQ on the beach if you ask us. You’ll find public BBQs at Apex Park, located adjacent to Main Beach under the shade of tall Norfolk pine trees. There’s also a large kid’s playground, picnic tables and grass area.
Another great spot for a beach BBQ is Wategos Beach. Just picture it: coming back from a surf with the family to the smell of sizzling sausages and shrimp on the barbie! You’ll need to get there pretty early though if you want to make use of the BBQs.
Alternatively, you could try your luck on Boxing Day or even cook up your Christmas feast at home and enjoy at the beach as a picnic.
Christmas Day Walks
We’re surrounded by so much natural beauty in Byron Bay, a Christmas Day walk is the perfect way to spend some quality time with the family outside in the fresh air. There are plenty of walks to choose from, all varying in length and difficulty to suit all walking abilities.
The lighthouse walk is a truly beautiful walk, offering sweeping 360-degree views of Byron and a superb location for watching the sun go down. You’ll also likely spot some dolphins, sharks or even humpback whales along the way!
For something a little easier, we suggest the Three Sisters Walking Trail, starting from Broken Head Beach carpark. It’s a wonderful little walk for taking in your stunning surroundings, stopping off for a swim and laying out on the grass after a big lunch.
